Volvo EX90

Volvo has confirmed that the EX90 electric SUV is headed to the Indian market. The upcoming model will become the Swedish carmaker’s third electric vehicle in India, joining the EC40 and the recently introduced EX30.

The EX90 serves as Volvo’s flagship electric SUV globally and is expected to strengthen the brand’s premium EV portfolio in the country.

On the outside, the EX90 carries forward several styling cues from the XC90 while introducing a more contemporary look. It features Volvo’s signature ‘Thor’s Hammer’ LED daytime running lights, vertically stacked headlamps, a closed-off front grille, 20-inch alloy wheels, an integrated roof spoiler and distinctive C-shaped LED tail-lamps that extend onto the tailgate. Additional vertical lighting elements near the rear window further differentiate the SUV.

Inside, the EX90 is equipped with a 14.5-inch portrait-oriented touchscreen infotainment system, a 9-inch digital instrument cluster and a 13.2-inch head-up display. Other features include Level 3 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), a four-zone climate control system, a 360-degree camera, panoramic sunroof, wireless phone charger, powered front seats, vehicle-to-load (V2L) functionality, over-the-air (OTA) software updates and a Bose audio system. Internationally, the SUV is offered in four-, six- and seven-seat configurations.

In global markets, the EX90 is available with two battery pack options. The entry-level version uses a 92 kWh battery paired with a single rear-mounted electric motor producing 333 HP and 480 Nm of torque, offering a claimed driving range of up to 565 km.

Higher variants are powered by a 106 kWh battery and a dual-motor all-wheel-drive setup. This configuration develops up to 680 HP and 780 Nm while delivering a claimed range of up to 608 km on a full charge.

Volvo is expected to announce the India launch timeline and specifications of the EX90 in the coming weeks.
