The AGVisor is an LCD equipped visor that offers a solution to the eternal problem of changing light conditions and goes from clear to dark at the press of a button.

In most cases, swapping a clear visor with a dark one has been the only solution that riders are left with when trying to combat changing light conditions. However, the same is not the most convenient choice while touring when light changes dramatically. This also means several riders do end up carrying two visors or use the friendly alternative called sunglasses instead of opting for a black tint visor. Now, in a bid to combat this issue, AGV has introduced the new ‘AGVisor’ that changes the tint on the visor at the flick of a button.

The AGVisor comes with a thin LCD film attached to the visor that changes the tint as per the rider’s choice. AGV says that its new visor is fast, efficient and does not compromise on safety. There are three tint-modes on offer which can be changed from clear to half dark and to full dark. Powering the LCD unit is a rechargeable battery integrated inside the helmet that provides 55 hours of battery life on half dark mode and 12 hours of battery life on full dark mode. In case the battery goes kaput, the visor automatically goes into clear mode without any hassle.

AGV says that the battery can be recharged in two hours via a micro USB port. While the AGVisor is certainly an interesting solution, it definitely isn’t cheap. Priced at $223 (Rs. 14,000/-), the AGVisor needs to be bought in addition to the AGV GT Veloce, Pista or Corsa range of helmets, on which it can be attached at present. The other downside apart from the price on the AGVisor is certainly the recharging factor and only adds to the list of gadgets that you will be charging before starting your ride. Check out the visor on display at the recently concluded Swiss Motorcycle Show and since the video is in German, jump to 1:22 seconds to check the visor in action.
