A completely new version of the Force Gurkha is being readied with an expected 2020 Auto Expo unveil.
The Force Gurkha has been on sale since a long time now and recently it was updated with the now mandatory safety features. Before that, the SUV’s Xtreme version was launched which comes with a more powerful 2.2-litre engine and updated mechanicals.
It is now being said that the automaker is working on an all new version of the Gurkha. The 2020 Force Gurkha will come with a revamped body and will feature major enhancements to the interiors along with a host of creature comforts. The new SUV will also be BS6 compliant with the same 2.2-litre diesel engine.
This is being done because the new crash test norms will come into place from October 2019 and the current generation of the Gurkha won’t be able to clear the tests. Force Motors will stop offering the older 2.5-litre diesel engine on the Gurkha but the updated model will use the same underpinnings as the Gurkha Xtreme. It’ll also come with a multilink suspension and a low range transfer case.
Production of the next generation Force Gurkha is expected to begin by Diwali 2019 and the vehicle might debut at the 2020 Auto Expo. The Force Gurkha’s primary competitor is the Mahindra Thar and the next generation of the Thar too is expected at the Expo.
