The Aprilia SR 125 will get a BS6 update but no other mechanical changes.
As the upcoming emission and safety norms are inching closer, automobile manufacturers are busy updating their products. The BS6 ready Aprilia SR 125 was spied while on a test. The updated scooter gets a BS6 ready engine as it can be seen on a temporary sticker that is stuck to the front. Along with it, the SR 125 could get an option for a front visor as well. The scooter does not get any other cosmetic or mechanical upgrades.
Powering the Aprilia SR 125 is a 125cc engine which produces 9.6 PS of power at 7250 RPM and 9.9 Nm of torque at 6250 RPM. The rear wheels are powered via a CVT setup. It is sprung by a hydraulic suspension at the front as well as the rear. Braking is taken care of by a 220 mm disc at the front and 140 mm drum brake at the rear. The SR 125 also gets CBS for more effective braking. The scooter rides on 14-inch wheels and 120 section tubeless tyres.
The Aprilia SR 125 stays in the same league as the other 125cc scooters, including the TVS Ntorq 125, Honda Activa 125 and Suzuki Access 125. The CBS variant of the SR 125 is priced at Rs. 73,701/- (ex-showroom, Mumbai) however, there could be a minor hike in price for the new updated model.
