Aprilia SR 125 Launched, Gets Sporty Highlights
Aprilia has launched the updated SR 125, positioning it just below the SR 175 in its scooter lineup. The brand introduces a refined engine, updated styling, and enhanced features for urban performance in the new model. It targets young riders looking for more than basic commuting with its sporty aesthetics.
Styling
Aprilia’s signature aggressive styling includes carbon accents, LED lighting, and a wide cushioned seat for comfort. The scooter rides on 14-inch alloy wheels, enhancing both road presence and handling. The SR 125 is available in multiple dual-tone colours in matte and glossy finishes to suit a diverse range of customers.
The colours include prismatic dark, glossy red with matte black, and tech white.
Engine
The scooter is powered by a 124.45cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine that uses Aprilia’s hp.e platform for better performance and efficiency. The engine produces 10.5 HP at 7,400 RPM and 10.4 NM of torque at 6,200 RPM. A CVT with a dry centrifugal clutch are paired with the engine, allowing a top speed of 90 Km/hr.
Features
A 5.5-inch TFT display now replaces the traditional cluster, offering improved visibility and digital connectivity for a modern riding experience. It adds both functionality and a premium touch as full LED lighting is standard. These features elevate the scooter above many other 125cc competitors in terms of equipment.
Braking & Suspension
In the front, there are telescopic front forks and a standard shock setup in the rear, in terms of suspension. Braking includes a 220mm front disc with twin-piston calliper and a rear drum setup. Safety features include a hydraulic CBS system, with ABS not offered in this category.
Pricing
Aprilia prices the SR 125 from Rs. 1.2 Lakh (ex-showroom). Despite its premium pricing, the brand emphasises performance and lifestyle appeal over simple utility. Urban riders wanting sportier scooters will find the SR 125 a niche yet stylish option.
