Italian 2-wheeler brand Aprilia has unveiled the SXR 160 at the 2020 Auto Expo. It is a high-performance maxi-scooter that is expected to be launched in India by September 2020. At the outset, the Aprilia SXR looks like a premium scooter that borrows several styling cues from Aprilia’s superbikes. Aprilia refers to call the styling as ‘Cross-Max Concept’.

Powering the SXR would be two engines – a 125 cc unit and a 160 cc unit. The latter would make the SXR 160, the most powerful scooter to go on sale in India. In the 125cc spec, the SXR will rival the Suzuki Burgman Street but the Aprilia is expected to be on the pricier side.

The scooter will come loaded with a multifunction all-digital instrument cluster, USB charging socket in the glove-box, front disc brake amongst others. The scooter will be available in four colours – Red, Black, Blue and White. Several accessory options pertaining to riding gear and connectivity will be provided. Aprilia will commence the bookings of the SXR in August with an expected price to be higher than the competition.
