Look at the sales of the Activa!

Scooter sales in August 2021 remained almost the same as it was during the same period a year ago

Honda’s Activa has led scooter sales for years and the same applies for August 2021 as well, for, the 2-wheeler found 2.04 lakh new homes.

Suzuki’s Access 125 came second by registering sales of 49,135 units, followed by the Jupiter with 45,625 unit sales.

Fourth-placed Honda Dio found 26,897 new buyers this past month and breathing down its neck was the NTorq from TVS which registered sales of 26,288 units.

Yamaha’s Fascino came next with just over 18,000 unit sales, while the Hero Pleasure+ (17,200 units) and Yamaha Ray ZR (16,064 units) followed suit.

The Jupiter had to settle for third place this time around

The ninth and tenth place in the top 10 August 2021 scooter sales chart were occupied by the Burgman Street from Suzuki (11,011 units) and the Honda Grazia (8618 units).

Apart from the Jupiter (-13 percent), Dio (-37 percent) and the Grazia (-32 percent), other scooters in the list registered year-on-year (YoY) sales growth.

In all, the top 10 scooters registered cumulative sales of 4,23,534 units, which is a 1 percent growth in sales when compared with the same period a year before.
