Bajaj CT125X price is cheaper than the segment best-seller Honda Shine by over Rs. 6000/-

Bajaj has silently launched the CT125X for a price tag starting from Rs. 71,354/- (ex-showroom, New Delhi). It commands a premium of Rs. 5056/- over the existing CT110X and cheaper than the segment best-seller, Honda Shine, by over Rs. 6000/-.

While, visually, the bike almost looks the same as the CT110X, power now comes from a new and bigger 124.4 cc long stroke DTSi engine that churns out 10.75 HP at 8000 RPM and 11 Nm at 5500 RPM, mated to a 5-speed transmission.

The engine is fed through Bajaj’s ‘Intelligent Carburetor’. The bore and stroke are 52 mm and 58.6 mm respectively, a typical long stroke configuration. Expect a throaty exhaust note.

The engine sits on a rugged square section semi double cradle frame with telescopic front forks (125 mm travel) and SOS Nitrox twin rear suspension (100 mm travel). The bike can be had either with a 130 mm drum brake or a 240 mm disc brake at the front.

The rear makes to do with a 130 mm drum brake. CBS comes standard. The front rides on 80/100-17 tyre and the rear has 100/90-17 unit. Alloy wheels with tubeless tyres come as a standard fitment.

The wheelbase is 1285 mm while the seat height is 810 mm. The total seat length is 700 mm. The bike is not suitable for short riders owing to the high seat height. The features on offer include a USB charger and a DRL on the front visor.

The colours on offer include Ebony Black with Green decals, Ebony Black with Blue decals, and Ebony Black with Red decals. For reference, the CT110X is currently available in 3 colours – Matte Wild Green, Ebony Black and Red, and Ebony Black and Blue.

While the graphics are new, the tank grips are taken from the 110. The biggest update, however, is the addition of a fully ribbed seat which looks cool and adds a lot of charm to the ruggedness. The bike can be easily modified into a cool scrambler.

Unlike the CT110X which gets dual-purpose tyres, the 125 sports only normal road-biased tyres. But, the presence of MRF Zapper C rear tyre is a big plus.
