Bajaj Pulsar NS400 launch scheduled for 2024

Bajaj Auto is gearing up to make waves in the Indian motorcycle industry with its upcoming offering, the Pulsar NS400. This development follows Rajiv Bajaj’s recent announcement about the company’s plans to launch its biggest Pulsar model to date.

Rather than opting for a new engine from KTM or Triumph, Bajaj has chosen to harness the Dominar 400 engine for the upcoming Pulsar. This 373cc engine has a slightly smaller capacity compared to some competitors but it produces 40 HP. The new Pulsar will come paired with a 6-speed gearbox and has a slip-assist clutch.

The chassis of the Pulsar NS400 will be a variation of the tried-and-tested perimeter chassis found in the NS200. While the chassis will undergo strengthening and modifications to handle the increased power, riders can expect similar size and dimensions to the current NS200. This not only enhances the bike’s agility but is also expected to result in a lower weight compared to the 193 kg Dominar, further enhancing its nimbleness on the road.

Design-wise, while details are scarce, it’s likely that the NS400 will inherit the sporty look that is popular in the NS family. However, riders can hope for some fresh updates to keep the bike modern and appealing. The recent addition of a USD fork to the NS200 added a muscular touch and this design cue is expected to carry over to the NS400, further enhancing its visual appeal.

The Bajaj Pulsar NS400 may also come equipped with new features. This could include connectivity options and possibly an LED headlight, which not only enhances visibility but also adds to the bike’s aesthetics.

Bajaj is known for its competitive pricing and it is anticipated that the NS400 will be positioned below the Dominar 400, which currently costs around Rs. 2.3 lakhs (ex-showroom). This strategic pricing will make it the most affordable option among the 40 HP, 400cc motorcycles available in the Indian market.
