Bajaj did not participate at the 2016 Auto Expo, however, it managed to grab equal attention by announced the V bike made of metal obtained by scrapping India’s first naval aircraft carrier, INS Vikrant which was a very significant warship during the 1971 Indo-Pak war.

We recently reported that dealerships have started accepting bookings for the Bajaj V15 at a booking amount of Rs. 5000/- while the prices were not disclosed. The Indian automaker has announced city wise prices of the new commuter which is destined to compete against rivals like Yamaha SZ-RR and Honda Unicorn 150.

Deliveries of the Bajaj V15 are scheduled to start next month while it will be offered at an ex-showroom price of Rs. 61,999/- in Delhi, Rs. 62,820/- in Mumbai, Rs. 65,495/- in Kolkata and Chennai will get the bike at Rs. 63,682/-. These prices look reasonable when we look at the list of features which include a removable rear cowl, dual-colour LED fuel indicator, muscular fuel tank, etc.

The Bajaj V15 is powered by a 149.5cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled, DTS-i engine producing 12 PS at 7500 RPM and 13 Nm at 5500 RPM while mated to a 5-speed gearbox. A small part of the fuel tank is made of the metal from INS Vikrant and hence, the Indian automaker can use this special material for a long time.
