Benelli has unveiled the 402S cruiser motorcycle at the ongoing 2017 EICMA Motor Show. The bike gets modern design elements like LED projector light, fully digital instrument cluster, side-mounted double barrel exhaust and 17-inch alloy wheels. The 402S’ looks bear resemblances to the Ducati Diavel.

The spacious saddle, wide handlebar and broad footpegs make the bike comfortable for everyday city riding and occasional weekend rides. The short tail section gets a LED tail-light. The motorcycle uses up-side down forks up front and a monoshock at the rear.

Twin 260 mm discs at the front and a 240 mm disc at the rear take care of braking duties with ABS being offered. The front tyre is 120/70/17 while the rear is 160/60/17. The motorcycle has a seat height of 740 mm while the fuel tank capacity is 16-litres.

Powering the Benelli 402S is an inline-twin, liquid-cooled, 8-valve, 399.3cc motor that produces 39.4 HP of power at 9000 RPM and 35 Nm of torque at 7000 RPM. Paired with a 6-speed gearbox, the power cruiser gets a Trestle frame, advanced suspension setup and more powerful braking hardware.

Benelli hasn’t yet confirmed the 402S for India and if it does, it will give tough competition to the upcoming Kawasaki Ninja 400 and Yamaha MT-03. The Benelli 402S will be available from mid-2018 in the European market.
