Benelli is gearing up to launch their first BS6 motorcycle in India.

Benelli Imperiale 400 Specifications
The Imperiale 400 BS6 is expected to come with new decals

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation in the country, product launches have been postponed. Benelli was expected to introduce the Imperiale 400 BS6 this month, the launch is now delayed.

However, the Italian bike maker will introduce the BS6 updated model soon after the lockdown is over. The expected price for the bike is Rs. 2.20 lakhs (ex-showroom).

The price will be hiked by Rs. 40,000/- over the BS4 model, which is quite a lot. Considering the fact that it already has a fuel injected engine on offer, the price difference is quite high.

The Benelli Imperiale 400 is powered by a 374cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine that churns out 20.7 BHP and 29 Nm of torque. These figures will see marginal difference once updated to BS6.

The bike will get larger catalytic converter and O2 sensor for Bharat Stage 6 compliance. Other than the engine, the decals of the bike are expected to be changed. There will be no new visual changes apart from the decals.

The Benelli Imperiale 400 competes with the Royal Enfield Classic 350 and the latter is priced from Rs. 1.57 lakhs (ex-showroom). It will be interesting to see the sales of Imperial 400 after this price hike.
