Benelli Leoncino 250 Spotted Testing, Gets Refreshed Styling

Benelli was caught testing the next generation of the Leoncino 250 on public roads. The spy shots reveal interesting details about the bike doing test runs. The Benelli Leoncino 250 is expected to launch in the next few months. The previous model was discontinued in 2020 when the BS6 emission norms came into effect.

Design Changes

The Benelli Leoncino 250 retains the scrambler silhouette with some design changes that freshen up the look. The test mule was covered under camouflage, hiding crucial details. However, the fuel tank section is beefed up with sharper extensions to give it an appealing visual.

The headlight assembly looks to be revamped, and the same is with the rear profile of the bike. The tail section looks more striking than before, with a different seat design. The alloy wheels look the same as before, but the exhaust has been redesigned. It can mean a slightly different exhaust note.

Engine

It is expected that the engine will not have major changes other than meeting the OBD-2B emission norms. The previous model was powered by a 249cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine, producing 25.4 HP and 21 Nm of torque. It was mated to a 6-speed gearbox and had a weight of 162 Kg.

Outlook

The Benelli Leoncino used to cost Rs. 2.84 Lakh (ex-showroom). It is expected that the new model, considering the changes made to comply with the norms, will be more expensive than before. The Leoncino 250 may get a power increase as well.
