2014 Bentley Flying Spur V8 Side

Bentley is one of the most well acclaimed luxury automakers in the world and the British company currently has 11 vehicles in its portfolio. Bentley has started 2014 with a fresh note by updating the Continental GT Speed. Recently, Bentley has updated the Flying Spur lineup by adding a V8 twin-turbo engine which will be available in addition to the flagship W12 unit. Both the updated vehicles will be showcased at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show and Bentley will commence deliveries in the second half of the year.

The new Flying Spur comes equipped with the same 4.0-litre V8 twin-turbo engine which currently does duty on the Continental V8 Coupe. The V8 twin-turbo engine is mated to a ZF 8-speed automatic gearbox to deliver power to all the four wheels. The turbocharged powertrain churns out a maximum power of 500 HP and maximum torque of 660 Nm. The Flying Spur V8 can complete the 0-100 km/hr sprint in just 5.2 seconds and the luxury sedan can achieve a top speed of 295 km/hr.

Bentley says that the V8 engine has a drive range of 840 kms. The luxury sedan comes loaded with essential and attractive features such as cylinder deactivation, intelligent thermal management and electrical recuperation. The design of the V8 is similar to the W12. The V8 variant can be differentiated from the flagship W12 by the presence of eight-chrome exhaust finishers, red centre background to the Bentley wing badge as well as the black front bumper grilles with a black wing insert.
