BMW 2-Series Gran Coupe 220i Sport Launched, Priced At Rs. 37.90 Lakhs

BMW has launched the 2-Series Gran Coupe 220i Sport with a price tag of Rs. 37.90 lakhs (ex-showroom, introductory), today. This variant will serve as the entry point to the 2-Series range.

The 220i Sport variant of the sedan has the same exterior design as every other 2-Series Gran Coupe model. It gets the very desirable frameless doors along with LED headlights and tail lamps and the much-talked-about latest iteration of the kidney grille.

Available in 4 exterior colours, namely Alpine White, Black Sapphire, Melbourne Red and Storm Bay, the car comes with 2 upholstery combinations – Sensatec Oyster Black and Sensatec Black – inside.

Speaking of which, the dashboard layout of the sedan stays the same and the 220i Sport features a leather multifunction steering wheel, sport seats (for driver and front passenger), ambient light package with illuminated interior trim and a panorama sunroof.

The driver gets a semi-digital instrument cluster, the touchscreen is 8.8 inches in size and comes with connectivity tech such as wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, while BMW also offers features like 3D navigation, virtual assistant, parking assistant with rear-view camera, and reversing assistant tech.

Powering the 220i Sport is a 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine that puts out 190 HP and 280 Nm. A 7-speed Steptronic Sport automatic transmission sends the power to the front wheels and the sedan can accelerate from 0-100 km/hr in 7.1 seconds.

Also, there are steering wheel paddle shifters for the driver to take control of gearshifts, driving modes (Eco Pro, Comfort and Sport), and features like launch control, cruise control with braking function, auto start-stop and brake energy regeneration offered with the car.

The BMW 2-Series Gran Coupe 2201 Sport price also gets customers a whole suite of latest safety systems, as is the case with modern cars from the German firm.

BMW claims the recently launched “Black Shadow” edition of the 2 Series Gran Coupe was booked within a day via BMW Online Shop and added that this edition will be available once again with a petrol heart very soon.
