
BMW Group India has posted its strongest-ever sales performance for the first half of a calendar year, delivering 9075 cars and SUVs between January and June 2026. The total includes 504 units sold under the Mini brand, helping the group register a 17 percent year-on-year growth during the six-month period.
The company also reported second-quarter sales of 4507 units, matching the overall 17 percent growth recorded for the first half of the year. BMW said the results were achieved despite challenging market conditions.
Electric vehicles continued to play a bigger role in the company’s sales mix. BMW Group India sold 2359 electric vehicles across the BMW and Mini brands during H1 2026, marking a 78 percent increase over the same period last year. EVs accounted for 26 percent of the group’s total passenger vehicle sales, meaning more than one in every four vehicles delivered was fully electric.
Demand for long-wheelbase models also remained strong. BMW sold 4428 long-wheelbase cars and SUVs during the first six months of the year, representing a 24 percent year-on-year increase. These models contributed 52 percent of the company’s overall sales.
SUVs continued to dominate BMW’s portfolio in India. The company delivered 5,926 SUVs during H1 2026, reflecting a 35 percent growth compared to the previous year. SUVs accounted for 65 percent of BMW Group India’s total vehicle sales during the period.
The MINI brand also recorded significant growth, with 504 units sold in H1 2026. Sales of MINI vehicles increased by 70 percent compared to the corresponding period last year, contributing to the group’s overall performance.
Looking ahead, BMW Group India has confirmed plans to introduce 14 new products in the second half of 2026 across the BMW, MINI and BMW Motorrad brands. The upcoming launches are expected to include new models, updated versions of existing vehicles and additional variants.
