BMW M340i xDrive 50 Jahre M Edition gets a price tag of Rs. 68,90,000/- (ex-showroom)

BMW has launched the M340i xDrive 50 Jahre M Edition, a special edition of the popular 3-Series sedan, at a price tag of Rs. 68,90,000/- (ex-showroom). It has been launched to celebrate 50 years of the German maker’s performance division ‘M’.

Produced locally at BMW’s Chennai plant, the special performance edition can be booked online via shop.bmw.in from today onwards. This is the company’s first special edition for India this year and more to follow.

The Jahre M edition has been engineered by BMW M and delivers maximum performance from the 3-Series platform. Available only in 2 colours – Dravit Grey and Tanzanite Blue, the sporty sedan features a not so large BMW kidney grille.

Th grille and its elements get a full piano black finish and other Jahre design touches like the Gloss Black window surround, mirror caps, 19-inch M light alloy wheels, 50 Jahre M roundel in front, rear, and wheel hub cap, etc.

The car features adaptive LED headlights with BMW Laserlight which offers variable illumination of the road ahead. The interior is designed to accentuate the cabin spaciousness and the driver-focused cockpit.

The sport seats with M-specific upholstery in a Sensatec/Alcantara trim provide a good range of adjustment. The sedan further gets Anthracite roof liner, high-gloss shadow line elements, and M leather steering wheel with shift paddles.

The performance sedan is powered by a 2998 cc straight-6 petrol engine that produces 387 HP and 500 Nm. It can sprint from 0 to 100 km/hr in 4.4 seconds making it the quickest car to be produced in India.

The engine is mated to BMW’s xDrive all-wheel drive technology. The car features special M Sport suspension, variable sport steering, and M Sport brakes.

As far as creature comfort features go, the edition gets BMW’s ConnectedDrive technologies that include Live Cockpit Professional, virtual assistant, gesture control, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, head-up display, parking and reversing assistant, and Harman Kardon surround sound system.

The performance car can be had with two kinds of accessory packs – Motorsport and Carbon. The sporty sedan can be purchased through BMW India Financial Services as well which is offering a host of plans.

Customers can choose from a variety of service plans according to duration and mileage. The packages cover Condition Based Service (CBS) and maintenance work with plans ranging from 3 years / 40,000 km to 10 years / 2,00,000 km.
