BMW launches X3 30 xDrive as new top petrol variant

BMW India has introduced a new range-topping petrol variant of the BMW X3, the 30 xDrive M Sport Pro, priced at Rs. 74.5 lakhs (ex-showroom). The new version sits above the existing petrol and diesel trims and is positioned to strengthen the X3’s presence in the luxury mid-size SUV segment against rivals such as the Mercedes-Benz GLC, Audi Q5, Lexus NX and Volvo XC60.

Powering the X3 30 xDrive M Sport Pro is a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine tuned to produce 258 HP and 400 Nm, a notable increase over the lower-spec petrol version. The engine is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission and BMW’s all-wheel-drive system, along with a 48V mild-hybrid setup. The higher output places it on par with key competitors in terms of performance, while retaining the familiar drivetrain layout of the standard model.

Visually, the new variant brings a number of sportier styling elements. These include gloss black exterior detailing in place of chrome, smoked lighting elements, M badging, larger 20-inch alloy wheels, red brake calipers and the introduction of a Brooklyn Grey exterior shade. The overall body design and proportions remain unchanged from the standard X3.

Inside, the cabin gains upgraded materials such as Veganza leatherette on the dashboard and door trims, along with subtle M-specific touches including branded seatbelt stitching, illuminated puddle lamps and metal door sill plates. The equipment list remains largely consistent with other X3 variants, featuring a 14.9-inch infotainment display, 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, panoramic glass roof, Harman Kardon audio system, head-up display, 360-degree camera, ventilated powered front seats, three-zone climate control, ADAS features and eight airbags. With this addition, BMW now offers the X3 lineup in three variants in India.
