
Ducati DesertX Next-Gen Spotted Testing, Will Feature The New 890cc V2 Engine
Ducati is preparing the next-generation DesertX, its popular off-road adventure bike, recently spotted testing in Europe. The test mule showcases several mechanical and visual changes. A new V2 engine and design tweaks, improving performance and agility, are included.
Ducati’s new 890cc V2 engine will feature in the upcoming DesertX, replacing the 937cc Testastretta motor. Notable weight savings, improving handling and efficiency, should result from this upgrade. A new chassis design is may further reduce overall kerb weight.
Design Changes
The bike retains its twin-pod round headlamp and tall, rugged stance despite the camouflage. It appears that the rear section is more compact than before. It seems that Ducati has also redesigned the swingarm for better off-road performance.
Expected Power Figures
The power figures shall differ slightly from the current 108.6 HP and 92 Nm of torque. Enhanced torque delivery may be the focus of the new setup. Overall, Ducati aims to make the DesertX lighter and more responsive.
Launch Date
Ducati is expected to debut the next-generation DesertX at the 2025 EICMA Show in November. It will likely reach India by early 2026. The model will strengthen Ducati’s position in the premium adventure segment.
