Production was put on a halt sometime in 2016 due to unsold inventory that the dealerships were carrying and also due to upgradation of assembly line at its factory for the production of the Jeep Compass. This force-fed powertrain comes paired to a 5-speed gearbox. The performance hatchback gets disc brakes on all 4 wheels, ABS with EBD and dual airbags as standard equipment. There won’t be any visual changes made to the car but it is rumoured that the Abarth Punto will come equipped with a 5-inch touchscreen infotainment system with offline maps.
The 2017 make Abarth Punto is now available in showrooms and costs Rs. 9,90,000/- (ex-showroom, Delhi).
