Fiat Launches 2014 Linea Facelift In India Priced From Rs. 7.44 Lakhs

Fiat has launched the facelifted Linea in the Indian market today, priced from Rs. 7.44 lakhs (the Linea Active is offered at Rs. 6.99 lakhs). The 2014 Fiat Linea costs less than the pre-facelift model as the Government has reduced excise duty and the benefits of the reduced tax can be seen in the Italian sedan’s pricing. Fiat has taken more than two years to bring the updated Linea to the Indian market as the vehicle was first unveiled way back in early 2012. To the disappointment of a majority of prospective buyers, Fiat hasn’t given the Linea a 1.6-litre Multijet heart.

The Fiat Linea facelift gets a slew of changes with the interior being almost all new, thanks to an all new dashboard. The exteriors have also seen changes and make the car look fresh. Mechanically there are no changes and the Linea continues to be powered by the same 1.3-litre Multijet diesel and 1.4-litre T-Jet petrol engines. The Linea has always been a well equipped car and Fiat has continued with all the features it offered on the old model. The new version also gets cruise control on the top Emotion trim while all variants get automatic headlights and wipers.

The updates to the Linea do make it a more attractive proposition and the company has now worked on its service, ensuring buyers have a smooth experience of owning Fiat cars. The company has the largest warehouse in the automobile sector, helping them make parts available quickly. Competition in the C-segment is intense and Honda recently launched the new City while Ford will soon roll out the facelifted Fiesta in the Indian market. The Skoda Rapid was recently given a limited edition model and the Sunny facelift is around the corner as well. The Fiat Linea has the goods to change the Italian brand’s fortunes in the country.
