Prices of all cars will go up significantly post BS6

The BS6 emission norms will come into place in the Indian market from April 2020. A lot of automakers are considering discontinuing the diesel variants of their small cars because the cost of upgradation from BS4 to BS6 is turning out to be quite high.

However, Ford diesel car sales won’t stop and they’ll continue selling their oil-burners. The company will make all its engines BS6 compliant before the April 2020 deadline. Post the BS6 norms kicking in, prices of all cars are likely to go up by 8-10%.

To prevent any kind of slowdown in sales, Ford will introduce more petrol variants in their vehicles too. The company was also the first one to offer a petrol engine in a UV with the EcoSport when it was first launched. The price hike won’t be limited to diesel cars, in fact even petrol models will see a significant hike.
