The Ford Mustang facelift was revealed in 2017 with a few cosmetic tweaks and new features. It is on sale globally since 2017 and India launch wasn’t expected to happen as Ford planned to skip the facelift and launch the next gen Mustang in India.

However, the American carmaker now seems to be keen on introducing the updated pony car in India in April 2020 after 3 years of global launch. The India-spec Mustang will get the same 5.0-litre, V8 naturally aspirated petrol motor like the pre-facelift model.

It will be available in a single trim and the price is expected to remain more or less the same, which is currently Rs. 74.62 lakhs (ex-showroom) for the pre-facelift model in India.

The naturally aspirated 5.0-litre V8 engine has been updated with the facelift that now produces 450 HP compared to the outgoing car’s 415 HP. It will get a new 10-speed automatic gearbox instead of the 6-speed unit in the pre-facelift Pony.

The styling has been revised with the front fascia getting sharper headlights and sporty bonnet. The interiors also get a new 12-inch touchscreen infotainment along with mild cosmetic tweaks.
