It is the first time that a motorcycle company is offering a 100 percent buyback for its products in India.

2016 Harley Davidson Street 750 Test Ride Review
The Harley-Davidson Street 750 is a good bike for what it is but has its own shortcomings

If you are a fan of Harley-Davidson and haven’t been able to find another reason to like it, then your wait is over as the company is offering a 100 percent buyback for its Street 750 and Street Rod models that are less than a year old. Don’t be sad if yours isn’t because a 75 percent buyback too is on offer for the aforementioned models that are up to two years old.

So what do you do with the cash? Well, buy another Harley-Davidson as the offer is only applicable if you buy one of the eight Softail models currently on sale in India. The ex-showroom price of your Street 750 will be deducted from the ex-showroom price of your new bike and you will end up paying only the difference amount.

Confused? Allow us to put it in perspective for you. Let’s say you come in with your one-year-old Harley-Davidson Street 750. The bike is currently priced at Rs. 5.25 lakhs (ex-showroom). Now, suppose that you choose your new ride to be the Harley-Davidson Fat Bob which is priced at Rs. 14.59 lakhs (ex-showroom). The difference between the two prices comes to Rs. 9.34 lakhs which is exactly the amount you will have to pay for your new bike, plus of course the road tax and insurance.

The above also applies to two year old Harley-Davidson Street 750 and Street Rod models, but only that instead of Rs. 5.25 lakhs, you will get only Rs. 3.93 lakhs as a discount on your new bike. It is still a lucrative deal as your bike is unlikely to fetch the same amount when sold through third-party dealers.

The Harley-Davidson Street Rod was launched in India to overcome the shortcomings of the Street 750 which had received a considerable amount of flak for its heating problem, wooden brakes and a harsh ride. The bikes are still the company’s cheapest motorcycles on sale in India but haven’t been able to set the sales chart on fire.
