2014 Karizma R Test Ride Review
The Karizma R was launched in 2014 but didn’t receive good response

The Karizma was first launched in India in 2003 as the Hero Honda Karizma and it totally won the hearts of Indians what with its spectacular styling which looked really cool at that time and the fact that it was the most powerful motorcycle from the manufacturer.

However, 16 years down the line, things just aren’t the same. Competition has grown, lots of new and modern products have arrived in the market and the Karizma is just not what it used to be. Hero had launched the latest major update of the Karizma 5 years back and now the bike fails to capture the interest of Indian customers.

The Hero Karizma has sold 0 units since February 2019 while its rivals from Bajaj Auto and KTM have been bringing in really good sales. The Karizma is still not discontinued though, company officials have stated that it continues to remain a part of their portfolio but they’re now focussing on selling it in overseas markets.

Hero MotoCorp launched the Xtreme 200S, Xpulse 200 and Xpulse 200T in the Indian market in May 2019 and the company has high hopes from these new models.
