Hero MotoCorp to launch EVs, motorcycles and global models in Q2 drive
Hero MotoCorp, India’s leading two-wheeler manufacturer, is set to introduce a series of new products in the second quarter of the financial year as part of its strategy to reinforce its presence both domestically and internationally. These launches come amid intensifying competition, particularly from Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India, which recently overtook Hero in retail sales.
The company’s upcoming product rollout spans electric vehicles, internal combustion engine motorcycles and premium models developed in partnership with Harley-Davidson. This diverse portfolio reflects Hero’s push to address evolving consumer preferences and respond to growing competitive pressures in the Indian two-wheeler market.
In the ICE category, the focus will be on strengthening Hero’s presence in the 125cc motorcycle segment, a space known for high demand and stiff competition. Meanwhile, the expansion of the Vida EV range aims to meet shifting consumer expectations in the electric mobility space. Hero is working on tailoring these products for both Indian and international consumers, signalling a more customised approach in its global strategy.
Additionally, the second motorcycle developed under the Harley-Davidson collaboration, built on the 440cc platform, is slated for launch during the quarter. More models from this alliance are expected in 2026, indicating a long-term plan to capture premium market share.
Internationally, Hero MotoCorp is targeting 10 to 12 key markets with products specifically designed to suit regional demands. The company has set an ambitious goal of generating 10% of its overall revenues and volumes from its global operations. Despite challenges such as global supply chain disruptions and concerns over the availability of rare earth materials critical to EV manufacturing, Hero remains confident that production will continue as planned through the quarter.
