Hero Xpulse 200 4V Rally Edition is expected to feature a longer travel suspension among other updates

All this time, we have seen a truly rally-spec Hero Xpulse 200 only on the racing arena but that’s set to change soon as Hero is, indeed, readying Xpulse 200 4V Rally Edition for mass production and sales.

The country’s largest 2-wheeler maker has submitted a type approval certificate to the NCT New Delhi’s Transport Department for registration of its upcoming test mules which include the Xpulse 200 4V Rally Edition and the regular model.

Hero is not only readying the Rally Edition, but also the updated Rally Kit for the existing Xpulse customers. The kit, which is already on sale for a price tag of Rs. 38,000/-, might get subtle changes this time around.

The type approval certificate, which has been leaked, has revealed the dimensions of both the Rally Edition as well as the regular model installed with the Rally Kit. Both the iterations have increased dimensions than the regular model.

While the Rally Kit’s length, width, and height is 2243 mm, 850 mm, and 1308 mm, the Rally Edition is even more bigger at 2255 mm, 850 mm, and 1320 mm. While the wheelbase of the Rally Kit has been increased to 1419 mm, the Rally Edition sports a even bigger wheelbase at 1427 mm.

Both the iterations will be based on the Xpulse 200 4V and not the 2 valve model. The Rally Kit weighs 1 kg more and the Rally Edition weighs 2 kg more than the regular Xpulse 200 4V. The increased dimensions could be as a result of increased suspension travel at both ends.

Expect increased ground clearance and seat height as well. Hero will also offer a host of accessories when both the iterations go on sale sometime later. When launched, the Xpulse 200 4V Rally Edition will become the country’s first true-blooded production off-roader.
