Making its debut as a concept at the 2016 Auto Expo, the Hero Xtreme 200R was showcased in its production-ready form days ahead of the next installment of the same event held in 2018. Dealerships of the domestic two-wheeler maker have begun accepting bookings for the Xtreme 200R ahead of its launch expected to take place in the next couple of months. The booking amount ranges from Rs. 1000/- to Rs. 5000/- and varies from dealer to dealer.

Featuring a bold street-fighter stance, the Xtreme 200R goes directly against the likes of Bajaj Pulsar NS 200 and TVS Apache 200. It offers some modern bits such as eyebrow-shaped LED pilot lamps, LED tail lamp, alloy wheels and a part-digital instrument console. Hero MotoCorp has equipped it with an optional single-channel ABS unit as well.

The bike will be offered in 5 dual-tone paint schemes – Panther Black with Cool Silver, Panther Black with Red, Sports Red, Techno Blue and Charcoal Grey with Orange. The Xtreme 200R draws power from a 199.6cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine which puts out 18.1 HP of power and 17.1 Nm of torque. The engine comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox.

Suspension setup comprises of front telescopic forks and rear monoshock unit while disc brakes at either end take care of braking duties. The bike also comes with a balancer shaft to reduce engine vibrations. The new motorcycle is expected to carry an ex-showroom price tag in the range of Rs. 90,000/- to Rs. 1 lakh depending on the variant.
