Honda has commenced trial production of the adventure tourer, the Africa Twin that is expected to launch shortly.

Honda has announced the commencement of trial production of the Africa Twin. This will be the second big capacity motorcycle after the CBR650F to be locally assembled in India via the CKD route.

The Honda Africa Twin will be powered by a 998cc in-line twin-cylinder engine mated to a 6-speed dual-clutch transmission (globally it is also offered with a 6-speed manual gearbox). This motor pumps out 95 HP of maximum power and 98 Nm of maximum torque. The adventure bikes comes with features like switchable rear ABS and Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC). The motorcycle gets a 21-inch front tyre and an 18-incher at the rear.

The Honda Africa Twin competes with the Triumph Tiger, Kawasaki Versys 1000 and Ducati Multistrada. Expected to launch shortly, this adventure tourer will come with a premium price tag.
