2018 Honda CB Hornet 160R Review
The new Hornet will get a bigger heart and different styling in comparison with the old bike

Honda is spiritedly working on a 200cc motorcycle that will likely be called the CB Hornet 200R and the launch of the brand’s first 200cc Indian bike could happen soon.

Back in July, Honda was said to be working on a motorcycle based on CBF 190R that it had patented in India not too long ago. Now, it has come to light that it will be the Hornet that will receive a bigger engine to take on the 200cc crop of bikes from Bajaj, Hero and TVS.

The Honda CB Hornet 200R might take styling cues from the above mentioned CBF 190R that gets sharp creases all around. We do not know if that bike’s angled headlight, small fairing, wide fuel tank, clip-on handlebar, will be carried as it is, but the new Hornet will for sure take inspiration from it.

Also, the digital cluster might be changed and the headlight will be an LED unit, in tune with the times. Engine-wise, the CBF 190R gets a 184cc air-cooled single-cylinder motor that produces 16.86 PS and 16.3 Nm of torque.

Do not worry, we can bet that the Hornet will put out numbers at least rivalling that of its…err…rivals. Unlike the bike it is based on, the Honda CB Hornet 200R might not come with USD forks. But, it will feature ABS, PGM-Fi technology and HET, among others.

Expect Honda to price the new Hornet above the X-Blade BS6 that costs Rs. 1.06 lakhs (ex-showroom) and on par with, if not lower than, its competition such as the Bajaj Pulsar NS 200, Hero Xtreme 200R and TVS Apache RTR 200 4V.
