Honda CB650R & CBR650R Launched With E-Clutch, Eliminate The Need To Use The Clutch Lever During Shifting, Will Improve Rider Comfort

Honda has launched the CB650R and CB650R for 2025. The new bikes get the innovative E-Clutch technology helps to improve rider comfort, allowing for clutchless shifting. The price of the CB650R is Rs. 9.6 lakh (ex-showroom), and the price of the CBR650R is Rs. 10.4 Lakh (ex-showroom).

The most notable upgrade to the CB650R and CBR650R is the addition of the E-Clutch. This technology, introduced globally in November 2023, eliminates the need for the clutch lever to switch between gears. The E-Clutch system enhances your riding experience by accommodating both spirited and relaxed riding styles. It reduces fatigue and elevates your overall enjoyment on the road.

Styling

The Honda CB650R carries a silhouette of a neo sports café racer with a subtle but muscular look. There is a round LED headlight, sculpted fuel tank and an exposed steel frame, adding to its streetfighter aesthetic. Honda offers two colour options, i.e. Candy Chromosphere Red and Matte Gunpowder Black Metallic.

The Honda CBR650R has a track-focused appearance. There are various design cues, such as twin-headlights, aerodynamic fairing, and a hunched forward stance accentuate the track-oriented aesthetic. The CBR650R is available in two colours, i.e. Grand Prix Red and Matt Gunpowder Black Metallic.

Engine

The Honda CB650R and CBR650R are powered by a 649cc liquid-cooled 4-cylinder engine, which produces 95 HP and 63 Nm of torque. It is mated to a 6-speed transmission with the aforementioned E-Clutch system.

Braking & Suspension

Honda has fitted the same suspension setup on the CB650R and CBR650R. The bike features 41mm Showa Separate Function Fork Big Piston (SFF-BP) inverted front forks on the front. At the rear, there is a monoshock setup with adjustable preload.

The front features dual radial-mounted 310mm floating disc brakes. At the rear, there is a 240mm single disc setup. Dual Channel ABS complements the braking system, improving safety.

Features

In terms of features, both bikes feature a 5-inch full colour TFT display with bluetooth smartphone connectivity. This is possible with the help of the Honda RoadSync app. Additionally, it also allows for turn-by-turn navigation, call alerts and notifications.

Outlook

The 2025 Honda CB650R costs Rs. 9.6 Lakh (ex-showroom), while the CBR650R is priced at Rs. 10.4 Lakh (ex-showroom). In terms of competition, they compete with Triumph Trident, Triumph Street Triple R and Kawasaki Z900. Both bikes are expected to deliver an exhilarating experience.
