The Honda Mobilio has been discontinued from the Indian market owing to poor demand.

Honda Mobilio Long Term Review
The Mobilio’s demand decreased further after the BR-V was launched

The Honda Mobilio was launched in India in July 2014 and it was a direct rival to the Maruti Ertiga. The Mobilio was positioned at a premium and it didn’t fetch high demand from customers. The vehicle was developed by the R&D facility in Bangkok only for Asian markets like India and Indonesia.

Owing to poor demand, Honda has now discontinued the Mobilio from the Indian market. The MPV had been fetching very poor sales and production was stopped few months back. The company has now exhausted all stock of the vehicle and in the previous month, it didn’t sell even a single unit.

The Honda Mobilio recently got a facelift for the Indonesian market but it is unclear whether it will be launched in India or not. With the upcoming safety regulations, Honda will have to modify the car accordingly and if the investment is too high, then they may not re-launch it here. Honda will decide the Mobilio’s fate for India in the next couple of months.
