Hyundai Motor India has introduced an assured buyback programme for the Creta Electric, aiming to provide customers with greater confidence about the vehicle’s resale value. Under the scheme, buyers are eligible for an assured buyback value of 60 percent for up to three years or 45,000 km, whichever is earlier, subject to the applicable terms and conditions.
The Creta Electric is currently Hyundai’s most affordable electric SUV in India, with prices ranging from Rs. 18.03 lakhs to Rs. 23.67 lakhs (ex-showroom). In addition to the buyback programme, the company also offers a Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) option. This allows customers to purchase the SUV at a starting price of Rs. 10.99 lakhs, while paying a battery subscription charge of Rs. 3.90 per km for the 42 kWh battery pack.
The electric SUV is available with two battery pack options. The standard 42 kWh battery offers a claimed driving range of 420 km, while the larger 51.4 kWh battery delivers a claimed range of 510 km on a full charge. The long-range version is powered by a front-mounted electric motor producing 171 HP, whereas the smaller battery variant develops 135 HP.
Charging times vary depending on the battery size. Using a 7.4 kW AC charger, the 42 kWh battery can be charged from 10 to 100 percent in around six hours, while the 51.4 kWh version takes about 7 hours and 15 minutes. Both battery packs support 100 kW DC fast charging, enabling a 10-80 percent charge in approximately 39 minutes.
With the introduction of the assured buyback programme, Hyundai joins a growing number of manufacturers offering guaranteed resale value schemes as part of their ownership packages for electric vehicles.
