Safety features will soon be mandatory on all cars sold in the Indian market as per a ruling by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways. Thus Hyundai has given the Grand i10 dual airbags, ABS and EBD as standard across all variants.

The Grand i10 gets other safety features like rear parking sensors, rear camera, fog lamps and impact sensing door unlock which is seen on the top-end variant. The mandatory features will now ensure passenger safety no matter which variant you buy.

The Grand i10 is powered by a 1.2-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine which generates 82 BHP and 114 Nm. It also comes with a diesel motor which is powered by a 1.2-litre, three-cylinder unit that generates 74 BHP and 190 Nm. Both the engines are mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. The petrol engine gets an option of a 4-speed automatic transmission.

Earlier, Hyundai had updated the features of the Xcent and now the compact sedan comes with ABS and EBD as standard on all variants. By the end of 2019, all Hyundai cars will get dual airbags and ABS with EBD as standard.
