Hyundai i20 Facelift Spied
The rear and front profile will get mild styling updates

Hyundai i20 facelift spotted for the first time in India

Hyundai has started testing the i20 facelift in India and the updated hatchback has been spotted camouflaged for the first time in the country.

Design

We expect the facelifted i20 to come with mild cosmetic changes in line with all the recent Hyundai mid-cycle updates. The front profile will get a revised grille to look fresh. The headlight might come with new detailing. We hope Hyundai retains the fog lamps in the facelift because recently their new products and updated models are not getting fog lamps anymore.

The biggest change on the side profile which is clearly visible in these spy shots is the new alloy wheel design. While the design is new, it looks very similar to the ones seen on the current model on sale.

The rear profile of the i20 facelift will get a new set of tail lamps it seems. There might be some revisions on the tailgate and the bumpers as well.

Interior

The dashboard design will be the same in the facelifted car but we can expect some changes in the interior trim colour. We hope to see some new segment first features in the facelifted i20.

We can notice a small display near the windscreen which we believe is the dual camera dashcam that will come with a small display.

We hope to see some features like front ventilated seats, 360 degree camera, ambient lighting, ADAS, etc. in the updated i20.

Engine

Hyundai won’t give the i20 facelift any changes in terms of engine options. It is expected to continue with the 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine and the 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine options. There will be manual and automatic transmission options like the current i20 on sale.

Launch & Price

Hyundai is expected to launch the i20 facelift by the end of this year or early next year in India. The pricing is expected to be similar at the time of launch with introductory prices but we believe it’ll increase marginally over the time. Expected price is in the range of Rs. 7.5 lakhs to Rs. 12 lakhs (ex-showroom).
