Hyundai’s N cars get performance as well as visual updates

Hyundai is planning to bring its N performance range of cars in India. N is the performance division of Hyundai world wide. The range of cars are souped-up and offered in two styles, first, the N performance range that comes with updated goodies and higher performance than the regular models. Second, the N-Line range is not as fast as the N Performance cars but comes with visual detailing to give a sportier and a more aggressive appearance.

The i30 N Fastback could be the launch of the N range of cars in India. Hyundai has displayed the i30 N Fastback at the ongoing 2020 Auto Expo. The i30 N Fastback looks sporty and sports some exciting specs too.

The i30 N Fastback looks attractive – the ‘5-door coupe’ is low, has sporty bumpers that get N-typical red piping. The cabin is sporty too, with red detailing contrasting well with the black theme inside. It also boasts uprated suspension, brakes and tyres.

Powering the i30 Fastback N is a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine which puts out 250 PS of power with the standard package and 275 PS of power with the performance package with 378 Nm of peak torque. Power is sent to the front wheels via a 6-speed manual transmission. The Hyundai i30 N Fastback comes with five driving modes – Normal, Exo, Sport, Sport N, and N Custom.

The i30N Fastback is expected to be brought into India as a full import. If launched in India, the i30 N Fastback will not have any direct competition. While the Hyundai i30 N Fastback will be a low-volume model, it could pave the way for more mass-market products from N in India.
