Hyundai is going to add more products to its line-up which also includes hybrid models.

Hyundai is all set to expand its product portfolio in the coming years and what better way to do it than by adding hybrid products to the line-up. The automaker is going to launch the Ioniq hybrid at the upcoming 2018 Auto Expo. The vehicle will be brought down to India via the CKD route and will compete against the likes of the Toyota Prius.

Apart from this, Hyundai will also introduce mild hybrid tech in its sedans and compact SUVs by May 2018. The government also provides subsidies to hybrid vehicles under the FAME scheme. As of now, Hyundai doesn’t have a single hybrid product in its Indian portfolio.

The company is ramping up its investments for India and will invest Rs. 5000 crore by 2020. The company will launch new products like the next generation Santro, a new compact SUV, etc. Hyundai will also launch Prime versions of the Grand i10 and Xcent and these will be targeted towards fleet customers. The cars will have lesser features and will be cheaper to buy.
