Hyundai has unveiled the full-blown Palisade SUV, but it won’t be launched in India.

2020 Hyundai Palisade Revealed
The Hyundai Palisade has been unveiled at LA Auto Show 2018

The Los Angeles Auto Show 2018 has managed to be in its top gear with a plethora of car models being unveiled and showcased. And among all the models that we would be most excited about, there is the Hyundai Palisade, the South Korean company’s new flagship SUV.

To put things into perspective of how big the Hyundai Palisade really is, it is bigger than the current Santa Fe XL sold in the United States and measures just under 5-metres (4981 mm) in length and has a wheelbase of 2901 mm.

Looking at this new flagship from Hyundai, we might well recall the Volkswagen Atlas from LA Auto Show prior to 2017, a car that did not quite perform as the company would have wanted it to. But here, with the Palisade, Hyundai seems to have got the perfect blend of everything right, starting from its designing to its tech bits.

Inside the cabin, the Hyundai Palisade would be available in both 7-seater as well as 8-seater layouts. The former would be available with ventilated captain chairs for the second row. On the dashboard, there is be a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, while a 12.3-inch digital driver’s display is stacked up behind the steering.

Under the hood, the flagship SUV has a 3.8-litre V6 petrol motor that is capable of churning out 295 horsepower and a peak torque of 355 Nm. The power is sent down to the wheels via an 8-speed automatic gearbox. The car can even be had with the HTRAC AWD. Plus, four driving modes are available for the drivetrain, namely Normal, Smart, Sport and Snow.

Hyundai hasn’t given out any word on the Indian launch of the Palisade yet and we aren’t expecting it either. It is slated to be introduced in the US market in 2020.
