Almost all automobile manufacturers come up with different limited editions of their vehicles these days. While most of these limited editions include only cosmetic tweaks, some of these editions also get other significant changes. Hyundai is now set to join the bandwagon by launching the i20 Celebration Edition. The Hyundai Elite i20 sold 1 lakh units in India and it is also the fastest in its segment to reach this milestone. To celebrate this, the Korean automaker is gearing up to launch a limited edition model.

The Hyundai i20 Celebration Edition will be based on the Sportz variant and it comes with few cosmetic additions such as a glossy black roof, blackened A and B pillars along with the standard black C-pillar, body decals, diamond cut alloys, sport pedals and ‘Celebration’ badging at the rear. The model will be available in only white colour. The i20 Celebration Edition is limited to 600 units only. The company is charging a premium of Rs. 29,990/- over the base price of the Sportz model. However, all these accessories are available in the after-market easily and they don’t cost much.

Hyundai has made no mechanical changes to the i20 and the Celebration edition will be powered by the same 1.2-litre petrol engine and 1.4-litre diesel engine. The reason for launching this limited edition could be that the company is trying to tackle the i20’s rivals. Recently, Hyundai also put in a new touchscreen system in the top variants of the Elite i20 and the i20 Active and it was clearly the Honda Jazz effect. The Elite i20 Sportz is priced at Rs. 6.39 lakhs and Rs. 7.54 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the petrol and diesel variants respectively.
