Indian Motorcycles line-up expands through the launch of the Scout Bobber in the US, coming to India very soon.
Indian Motorcycles expands the Scout portfolio by launching the Scout Bobber. The Scout Bobber is Indian Motorcycles’ first bobber styled motorcycle. The bike has been launched in the US and a launch in the Indian market is in the pipeline.
The Scout Bobber will be coming to India via the CBU route and is offered in a choice of 5 colours – Thunder Black, Star Silver Smoke, Bronze Smoke, Indian Red and Thunder Black Smoke. On the styling front, the Scout Bobber staying true to its bobber DNA featuring a chopped front fender, rear mudguard and fatter rubber to give it a masculine and raw look.
Unlike the Indian Scout that features oodles of chrome, the Scout Bobber is all in all a blacked out motorcycle. There’s black almost everywhere. The headlight cover, alloy wheels, exhaust pipes, the gauge face on the instrument panel and the rear suspension are all done in black that renders a mean look. The Scout Bobber also gets a redesigned leather seat and bar-end mirrors.
Powering the Scout Bobber is the same engine as in the Indian Scout, an 1113cc V-twin liquid-cooled motor that produces 100 HP and 98 Nm of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheel via a 6-speed transmission. The suspension is standard telescopic forks up front and dual shocks at the rear. A 298 mm disc brake both at the front and rear do the job of bringing the Scout Bobber to a halt. ABS is an optional extra in the US while it may be offered as standard for the Indian market.
Tyres are 130 section up front and 150 section at the rear and the Indian Scout Bobber tips the scale at 251 kgs! Indian Motorcycles also offers a slew of touring accessories on the Scout Bobber like a passenger seat with sissy bar and the solo rack bag and saddle bag.
