The Innova Crysta has played its part in Toyota’s portfolio, and has helped increase the manufacturer’s sales by over 25%. The response for the second generation of their famous MPV, the Innova, has been good, and the Crysta has managed to sell 7500 units in June.

The Toyota Innova Crysta was launched in India in the month of May 2016

The Innova Crysta has been a long awaited update to the famous Toyota Innova. Toyota seems to have hit the right notes when it comes to the Crysta, by preserving all that was famous and beloved in their older car and giving the MPV all the modern touches it lacked. The Crysta has thus, played a major hand in boosting Toyota’s sales by over 25%, with 7500 units of the MPV being sold in the month of June. Launched in the month of May 2016, the MPV already enjoys a waiting period of close to 3 months due to its high demand.

This success interestingly, comes despite the ban on 2.0-litre plus diesel engines that has been implemented in the Delhi NCR region. The ban affected Toyota’s Innova Crysta and Fortuner SUV. However, the company still managed to sell over 13,500 units in the month of June which marks an increase of 25-27% coming from June 2015, when the sales figures hovered around 10,464 units.

While most of these sales come from the newly launched Innova Crysta, the company’s other products too fared well. The Toyota Camry saw a growth of 50%, while the Etios/Etios Liva too saw a boost of 10% in its sales. With no new launches on the horizon, other than the Etios facelift, Toyota will continue to rely on its popular people mover to keep its fourth position on the sales chart.
