Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) is planning to build an engine plant in UK. The Tata Motors’ owner company has zeroed in on either Wolverhampton or South Wales as the location for the new facility, which will recruit 1000 people. Currently all Jaguar and Land Rover cars are manufactured in UK and the company is facing a slight capacity crunch as luxury car sales soar. JLR is also in talks with potential partners in China to assemble their vehicles in the world’s largest car market, where it sold 30,000 cars last year. For the record, the total size of the luxury car market in India is half of what JLR alone sell in China.
