Kawasaki’s entry-level adventure tourer, the Versys-X 300 has been launched in India at a price of Rs. 4.6 lakhs (ex-showroom, Mumbai and Delhi). The Versys-X 300 is assembled at the company’s Chakan, Pune facility in India. Bookings for the motorcycle have commenced across all Kawasaki dealerships in the country.

Typical of all adventure tourers, the Kawasaki Versys-X 300 gets a tall seating position, wide handlebar and spoked wheels with dual purpose tyres. It also gets an instrument console as seen in the recently unveiled Ninja 400. The vehicle uses a backbone type frame made of high-tensile steel. The motorcycle is powered by a 296cc liquid-cooled, parallel-twin and fuel-injected motor that produces 40 PS of power at 11,500 RPM and 25.7 Nm of torque at 10,000 RPM. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox with Assist and Slipper Clutch.

Kawasaki has used 41 mm telescopic forks (130 mm travel) up front and a preload adjustable monoshock (148 mm travel) at the rear. Stopping power comes in the form of 290 mm and 220 mm petal discs at the front and rear with ABS respectively. Fuel-tank capacity is rated at 17-litres and the Versys-X 300 tips the scales at 184 kgs (kerb mass).
