Kia’s upcoming compact SUV codenamed QYI has been spotted on test. It is a sub 4-metre SUV that is based on the Hyundai Venue platform. The design language of the Kia will be totally different inside out compared to its Hyundai cousin.

The production version will be showcased next month at the 2020 Auto Expo. While the launch is expected to happen in mid-2020 ahead of the festive season in India.

The Kia QYI will be positioned under the Kia Seltos just like the Hyundai Venue that is positioned under the Hyundai Creta. The compact SUV will get advanced tech including e-Call telematics, advanced GPS, navigation systems, remote ignition and real-time traffic monitoring.

It will be offered with three engine options including 1.0-litre turbo petrol, 1.5-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel. The Kia QYI will compete with the Maruti Vitara Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Ford EcoSport, Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV300 and the likes.
