KTM 390 Adventure X to get cruise control, riding modes and cornering ABS
Bajaj Auto is preparing to update the KTM 390 Adventure X with a suite of electronic rider aids similar to those offered on the top-spec KTM 390 Adventure. The move comes just a few months after the 390 Adventure X was launched and it aims to enhance the motorcycle’s touring and off-road capabilities.
Dealerships have reportedly stopped accepting bookings for the current version of the bike, with the updated model expected to arrive in showrooms within the next few weeks.
The refreshed KTM 390 Adventure X will include key electronic features such as cornering ABS and traction control, enabled by an Inertial Measurement Unit. It will also offer three riding modes Rain, Street and Off-road, allowing riders to adjust throttle response, power delivery, ABS and traction control settings based on different riding conditions.
One of the most notable additions will be cruise control, complete with dedicated switchgear, making long-distance touring more convenient. With this update, cruise control will become a standard feature across the entire new-generation KTM 399cc motorcycle lineup, with the exception of the 373cc RC 390.
Despite these enhancements, the mechanical aspects of the bike will remain unchanged. The 390 Adventure X will continue with its non-adjustable, long-travel suspension, 19/17-inch alloy wheels and Apollo Tramplr dual-purpose tyres. The 399cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine will also stay the same, producing 46 HP and 39 Nm of torque.
Currently priced at Rs. 2.91 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi), the updated 390 Adventure X is expected to see a price increase of Rs. 10,000 to Rs. 15,000, which is considered reasonable given the added features. The model will still be available in orange and white colour options.
These upgrades are expected to make the 390 Adventure X a stronger contender in its segment, competing more effectively with rivals such as the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 and potentially overlapping with its more premium sibling, the standard 390 Adventure.
