The 2017 KTM RC 390 gets a side-mounted exhaust to comply with BS4 emission norms

The 2017 KTM RC 390 has been unveiled in the US and the motorcycle is of the same-spec as the one that currently sells in India. KTM had launched the 2017 RC 390 in India earlier this year.

The 2017 KTM RC 390 is powered by a 373.3cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected mill that produces 43.5 HP of power and 36 Nm (up by 1 Nm) of torque. This engine comes paired to a 6-speed gearbox and the RC 390 also features a slipper-clutch that aids in smooth gear shifts.

The motorcycle gets a bigger 320 mm (up from 300 mm) front disc brake and side mounted canister exhaust that replaces the under belly unit. Other features include ride-by-wire, adjustable clutch and brake levers, wider rear-view mirrors and projector headlamps. KTM continues to offer ABS as standard equipment.

Suspension duties are via upside down WP forks up front and a monoshock at the rear. The 2017 RC 390 also uses the same old orange backlit instrument console. As a result of the new exhaust, the motorcycle now weighs 147 kgs.
