The new scooters get new features to balance the Rs. 2000/- price hike

Mahindra has updated and launched the CBS-equipped Gusto 110 and Gusto 125 in India. Price hike for both scooters is around Rs. 2000/-. The new Mahindra Gusto DX CBS is now tagged at Rs. 50,996/- whereas the fully-equipped Gusto 110 VX CBS costs Rs. 55,660/-. Meanwhile, the Gusto 125 CBS is priced the highest at Rs. 58,137/- (all prices, ex-showroom).

The Mahindra Gusto was unable to meet the norms implemented from 1st April 2019, due to the absence of a Combined Braking System (CBS) and hence was discontinued. The Government of India required all new two-wheelers of up to 125cc to be equipped with CBS from the aforementioned date.

The Mahindra Gusto uses a 109cc engine that produces 8 PS at 7000 RPM and a peak torque of 9 Nm at 5500 RPM. The Gusto 125 is powered by a 124cc engine cranking 8.5 PS at 7000 RPM and 10 NM at 5500 RPM.

In terms of features, the new scooters get a follow-me-home headlamp, height-adjustable seat and a flip key fob with an LED torch that lightens up via buttons.
