Mahindra Marazzo Diesel AMT
The leaked document from the Delhi transport department

Mahindra has completed the homologation process of the Marazzo diesel AMT and the firm is soon expected to launch the model.

As per leaked documents, the Marazzo AMT will be offered in all 3 variants of the MPV, namely the M2, M4+ and M6+ in both 7- and 8-seater versions.

The Mahindra Marazzo diesel AMT versions will come with the “AutoShift” badge, seen earlier on test mules of this new variant, and the gearbox will be mated to the 1.5-litre diesel motor that does duty in the car.

Variants equipped with the AMT gearbox will also have 2 drive modes, them being “Eco” and “Power”. The engine’s power output will be reduced to 98 HP when the “Eco” mode is selected.

Choose the “Power” mode and the motor will put out all of its 121 HP to the wheels. It is not known from the leaked documents if torque produced by the engine reduces when “Eco” mode is selected, but that will likely be the case.

Expect the Mahindra Marazzo diesel AMT variant to deliver similar fuel economy as the diesel manual variant.

However, there will be no such parity when it comes to the price, as AMT models will cost much more in comparison with the corresponding manual model.

Moreover, the Indian automaker is also working on a petrol variant of the MPV, which is also expected to be launched this year. It too might be equipped with this same AMT gearbox as well.
