The Mahindra Mojo UT300 (low-cost version of the standard Mojo) has been spied well ahead of launch, bookings commenced.

The Mojo UT300 gets inferior hardware, hence the lesser sticker price

The low-cost version of the Mahindra Mojo christened Mojo UT300, has been spied completely undisguised near a dealership. The Mojo UT300 is expected to be launched in the country in the coming days with a lesser price tag of Rs. 1.4-1.5 lakhs (ex-showroom). The motorcycle can be booked for Rs. 5000/- at a Mahindra 2-wheelers dealership.

Why lesser price? A number of features and premium hardware from the standard Mojo have been skipped in the Mojo UT300. Visually though the UT300 looks similar to the regular Mojo, there are differences. For instance, the UT300 gets a single exhaust (instead of two), standard telescopic forks up front (instead of inverted forks), twin pod headlight setup without the LED DRLs and MRF rubber (instead of Pirelli Diablo Rosso II units).

Powering the Mojo UT300 is the same 292cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled motor with a carburetor instead of fuel-injection. Skipping FI could also mean there could be a slight dip in the power and torque output. For reference, the regular Mojo puts out 27 HP of power and 30 Nm of torque. The Mojo UT300 with its lesser price tag will now cater to a wider audience and hence sales could get the much-needed boost.
