The Supro electric will share the 73.2V induction motor with the eVerito

Mahindra showcased the green side of its product lineup at the 2016 Auto Expo with the e2o Sport and Verito electric while the manufacturer has also unveiled the Supro electric in the light commercial passenger carrier segment. The electric variant like the Verito looks similar to the regular variant with little changes in and out on the van.

The Mahindra Supro electric is powered by the same motor that does duty in the e2o and the newly unveiled eVerito, however the motor is tuned to produce more power in the Supro and Verito. The 73.2V induction motor produces 41 BHP at 3000 RPM and 91 Nm of torque at 3000 RPM.

The gearbox is expected to be the same automatic unit found on the e2o while the Mahindra Supro will be equipped with disc brakes on the front wheels and drum brakes on the rear ones. The electric van will only be offered with the 8-seater layout while the regular variant also has an option of a 5-seater layout.

The Mahindra Supro electric is 3798 mm long, 1540 mm wide and 1910 mm long which is exactly the same as the regular van. The wheelbase also remains the same at 1950 mm while the electric vehicle is expected to ride on broader tyres, however no official data is out yet.

The Mahindra Supro sports very little changes on the outside which are limited to the new set of 5-spoke alloy wheels, chrome finishes on the grille and blue-coloured body graphics. The Indian automaker has not signalled anything about the launch yet but it will be safe to expect the electric van to enter the market soon.
